How do you think your English writing skills have improved after completing this Wix e-portfolio? (You can talk about your improvement in these aspects: vocabulary, grammar, writing skills, motivation and confidence in writing, and interaction with peers.)
Actually, I don’t think post the essays on Wix has improved my English writing skills, because it is just a process of “posting”. But I do literally try my best to present the more complete and nicer works of my writing. I would even check the essays and journals over five times before I publishing it on my Wix pages, and then check them again and again after publishing.

What do you think about creating the Wix e-portfolio for the final essay drafts?
It is great. Posting uncomplete works is a bit embarrassed, and I think I will not browse the pages of uncomplete works if there are pages of final essay drafts.
-
What do you think about creating the Wix e-portfolio for journal writing and commenting?
I love it! I very enjoy reading the journals on Wix. It is a pretty suitable platform to present journals, which can put the videos, photos, and interactive boxes on to enrich the content and the experiences of reading. Also, browsing the comments from different people is pretty fulfilling to me and make me want to write more appealing journals.
-
Do you think that journal writing should be conducted in the same way as essay writing (i.e., Draft 1, peer review, Draft 2, conferencing, and Draft 3 on Wix)? Why or why not?
I don’t think it is a better way of writing journals. If journal needs to be reviewed first as writing essay, it will be a lot less fun through the process of writing the journals.
-
What did you benefit from TA feedback after you posted each final essay draft and journal on your Wix e-portfolio? (TA feedback was presented via Excel file and PPT slides).
Almost none.
-
What did you benefit from conducting self-assessment and peer-assessment of the Wix e-portfolio in the second semester?
Those assessments pushed me to finish the whole Wix. I left some unedited pages, like page of about (not about me or about website) which I had no idea for how to design. To finish those assessments, I must change those pages instead of keeping the default looks of them, although I have seen lots of Wix just keep default looks until now. So, maybe it is not necessary to change? I don’t know.
-
How did this Wix e-portfolio enhance your skills other than writing?
It is a really good way to train our esthetics. We will always find some dissatisfaction in our works when we read them after we have finished it for a while. As same as writing, there is a same re-editing process of setting Wix, which is a nice chance to build our esthetics.
-
Overall, what did you benefit from creating and managing this Wix e-portfolio? How is it different from uploading your assignments on ecourse2?
From creating and managing this Wix e-portfolio, I literally get a great sense of accomplishment. As I mentioned in the survey, if we only upload the assignments on ecourse2, we may never open and read those files again. Also, Wix e-portfolio is a great showcase of our growth throughout the year, which is meaningful.
Challenges
-
What difficulties have you encountered in terms of creating and editing your Wix e-portfolio over these two semesters?
I always struggle with getting same height of the pages’ strips. I even recorded the number of the height to make sure that one page’s strip is as high as another one.
-
Among all the difficulties mentioned above, what was the most challenging one? How did you handle this challenge?
Only one that I mentioned, and I recorded the number to solve this difficulty!
-
Will you continue to use or write posts on this Wix e-portfolio in the future? Why or why not?
I’m not sure. Because it really takes time when I want to make sure that everything is perfect on Wix, but publishing the journal is also interesting to me.
